Mindfulness-Based Dementia Care Program Schedule

2024 MBDC Online/Virtual Sessions

The Mindfulness-Based Dementia Care program’s virtual 2024 sessions will be offered online via Zoom and — thanks to a generous grant — are available at no cost. Each session is a series of 8, 2-hour interactive classes over an 8- to 10- week period, and a half-day retreat.

To be eligible to participate in a virtual 2024 session, you must:

  • be an unpaid friend or family member over age 18 caring for or supporting someone with mild cognitive impairment or dementia
  • not have previously participated in the MBDC program
  • be willing to complete surveys before and after the class
  • have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone
  • be able to participate in online video calls (via Zoom)
  • come with an open mind and a willingness to try something new (no mindfulness experience needed)

Note: If you are not eligible to participate based on the above criteria, please contact us at [email protected] to learn about our other MBDC program sessions.

Due to demand and small class sizes, priority registration will be given to care partners referred by the host location supporting the session, or in the same state as the host location. If you select a class that you were not referred to, or a class that is not in the state you reside, you will be put on a wait list and accepted based on availability. Those on the wait list will be notified at least 2 weeks before the start date.

How to Register for Online/Virtual Classes

Start here to go to our registration form, where we’ll ask you to complete a survey that includes questions about yourself and the person with the diagnosis, such as mood and experience with care partnering. We will also ask you to indicate your preferred MBDC session dates and times.

After you complete the survey, we will email you a confirmation of your pre-enrollment or wait list status. Your MBDC program teacher will contact you prior to your session to touch base, confirm the class schedule and answer any of your questions.

Note that priority will be given to care partners referred by or in the same state as the host site. All others will be placed on a wait list, and informed two weeks before the MBDC session if there is still space. Your MBDC program teacher will then contact you prior to the session to touch base, confirm the class schedule and answer any of your questions.
